Hunter S. Thompson, the ultimate Screw You writer of the 1970s, is a rare type of asshole: he was an asshole even before he was famous. It’s nice to know that fame doesn’t change some people.
The Ottowa Citizen recently published a letter that Thompson mailed to The Vancouver Sun newspaper in 1958, when Thompson was a struggling New York City journalist applying for jobs. In his classy cover letter, Thompson writes:
“By the time you get this letter, I’ll have gotten hold of some of the recent issues of The Sun. Unless it looks totally worthless, I’ll let my offer stand. And don’t think that my arrogance is unintentional: it’s just that I’d rather offend you now than after I started working for you.”

The character of James Bond is defined by his car, his Martini, his women, and his gun. While it’s easy to buy an Aston Martin, order a Martini shaken (not stirred), and attract sexy spies, it’s been difficult for us to find a good solid 1960s pistol.
Finally. The Walther pistol used in the 1963 James Bond film From Russia with Love is up for auction at Christie’s in London on November 25th. The gun is expected to go for $32,000.
Legendary musician and infamous troublemaker Keith Richards has published an autobiography of his life, for sale through LouisVuitton.com and select Louis Vuitton stores. The book is appropriately title LIFE- in all caps because Richards has lived a giant life adventure with more second chances than a cat.
The rocker began his relationship with Louis Vuitton when he was photographed by Annie Leibovitz for LV ad featuring his custom LV guitar case (pictured). LIFE is mostly a written memoir, but there are also 24 full-color classic photos included to document the art that has been Keith Richards’ life. How is this guy still alive?

The November issue of Numero Magazine features hot new model Dafne Cejas photographed by Greg Kadel in some luxurious close ups. This Argentinian-born model always hits us with her hardcore beauty combined with a gentle androgyny. She is dripping with diamonds, leather and fur for this shoot… which seems to be literally dripping off of her body.
DeLeón Tequila hosted the exclusive premiere of the “The King’s Speech” in New York. The film, the favorite to win the Oscar this year, brought out New York’s finest including the one and only fashion icon Valentino.
