INGREDIENTS
1 oz | DeLeón Reposado |
1 oz | Lemon juice |
0.5 oz | Agave nectar |
0.5 oz | Red wine (float) |
PREPARATION
- Add all ingredients into a shaker except the red wine.
- Fill with ice and shake for about 6 to 8 seconds.
- Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- Add the red wine float and garnish.
This is an inspiration of a Tommy’s margarita, and a New York sour. Lemon is used instead of lime for less bitterness and the agave nectar gives the drink a medium intensity of caramel flavor. While drinking the cocktail, the wine float will blend with the rest of the ingredients and brings layers of complexity with notes of red berries, cinnamon and a hint of vanilla.
